Google has taken a stand against apps on the Play Store that simulate the Israeli strikes on Gaza, and have begun removing them. The apps were pulled after users took to Twitter, criticizing Google for allowing such apps to exist. One of the games removed was BombGaza, which tasked players with dropping bombs on terrorist while avoiding citizens. Another was Gaza Assault: Code Red, which tasked players with finding and bombing terrorist cells. Google won’t comment on specific apps, but a spokesperson for Google told Mashable “We remove apps from Google Play that violate our policies,” policies that prohibit games from using hate speech or excessive violence. What’s interesting to note is that the games were out for almost two weeks before Google took action. You can read more about it here.
