Here’s an interesting start for the roundup – Square Enix is bringing its first game, an MMORPG called Shissou, Yankee Damashii, to Android phones – in Japan. For those of you who may be confused, this was the first game developed and released by Square Enix after their merger. The game launched in 2003 and had a pretty dedicated following, and has grown in popularity since the games service ended in 2010. An iOS version is in development as well and there’s no word on an English version. The Japanese just seem to have more fun on their phones. You can check out more over here.
We’ve got a pretty decent slew of US releases as well. Skulls of the Shogun, a turn-based strategy game with hand-drawn visuals launched today for $1.99, Dragon Quest IV also launched at the hefty price tag of $14.99, and Crazy Taxi: City Rush has made its way to the Play Store for the low price of free. Be sure to keep your eye out for reviews in the coming weeks.
And speaking of Dragon Quest, Square Enix delivered a humorous typo when the game launched, incorrectly spelling the title Dargon Quest. Remember kids, mistakes on the internet are forever. You can read about it and more Square Enix flubs over here.
