Hot on the heels of Ubisoft’s recent decision to shift some of their paid apps to free-to-play (Assassin’s Creed Pirates) SNK’s quirky music game, The Rhythm of Fighters, has now joined the Freemium ranks.
The Rhythm of Fighters use the characters from the iconic 2D brawler, King of Fighters, and sets them in in a music-based game where they players must decide their fate in a tapping, swiping minigame.
If you picked up the game, don’t fret – SNK provided five free track packs to play to: King of Fighters Selection Volume 2, the Real Bout pack, the Recommend pack, and the custom mix Rhythm of Fighters pack. That’s about $12 dollars in content, which is nice, but it’s a shame the rest of the songs have to be bought.
However, the game needs to recognize that you’ve already paid for it. You’ll need to have save data on your device, which means you need to have not only purchased it but have it installed before the update. So if you’ve uninstalled it, or you want to play it on a different device, you’re out of luck.
Are you willing to give The Rhythm of Fighters a try now that it’s free to play? Let us know.
