For those unfamiliar with the Five Nights At Freddy’s series, they’re suspense laden games where players monitor well-meaning but murderous robots through a security system. It can include CCTV, sensors, or simply sounds and each level gives you different set ups to play with. To keep themselves safe players have various options like playing audio clips to distract the animatrons or holding doors shut to remain safe. Both actions, along with other actions, consume energy. With only a limited amount of energy players have to think conservatively about when they shut it, especially when there are multiple doors to consider. Upon failing they’ll meet a robot literally face to face, in true jump scare fashion.
In this third installment players only contend with a single mechanical foe hoping to remove their face. However thirty years have passed since Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza from FNAF2 closed to become a tourist trap and old enemies from the series still linger in the halls as terrifying but non-lethal ghosts.
Five Night’s At Freddy’s 3 is available here on Google Play for $2.99. As is usual for the series, if you’re not quite sold then there’s a demo for you to try out beforehand here.
