Adventure in Another World
From Springcomes arrives a new idle RPG, Abyss: Rebirth Phantom. You awake to the sight of an angel named Renia. The world around you is an unfamiliar place. Renia explains that this is the Abyss. What is the Abyss, you might ask? That’s for you to find out, but you won’t have to do it alone.
Abyss: Rebirth Phantom is a mix between an idle RPG and a gacha title. The main draw of the game are the many fully voiced female characters you can summon with gems or tickets. You start off with three girls, and more get added to your roster as you play. All of the girls fall into a role such as a tank or a healer. They also come with unique abilities that vary wildly depending on the girl, ranging from superguns to bunny ears that grant techno-magic.
There isn’t much in terms of gameplay with Abyss: Rebirth Phantom. Since it is an idle RPG, you won’t really be doing much fighting. That’s the girls’ job. Yours is to level them up and grow their abilities, as well as fine-tune your ever-expanding team. Quests earn you extra gold, you use gold for leveling up. But the main challenge will be pitting your team against the game’s many dungeons. Deep within these labyrinths lie monsters far tougher than those on the surface, but the loot they carry is well worth the fight.
Abyss: Rebirth Phantom isn’t looking to shake up the idle RPG genre. The gameplay is simple with a focus on routine. Fight monsters, earn gold, level up and occasionally get new girls to add to your lineup. Still, if you’re looking for an idle RPG to pass the time, then Abyss: Rebirth Phantom might be worth checking out. For more news on idle RPGs, check out Hardcore Droid’s other reviews.
