Release, Rewards, and Story Details
WonderPlanet’s puzzle gacha RPG Alice Fiction is out now on Android and iOS devices. Developers announced the game’s release during a July 27 live stream presentation on the game’s official YouTube channel.
Alice Fiction follows the story of a young protagonist who logs into the mysterious “The Metaverse of ALICE” for the first time. However, a mysterious error occurs when they enter, causing them to lose their memories. They soon encounter a girl claiming to be their younger sister. The protagonist will also encounter many other people while searching for answers, including some based on various Folklore.
Others include “Lost Avatars” affected by “The Identity Detachment Phenomenon” afflicting the system. Players will then begin to unravel the mysterious and dark truths behind The Metaverse of ALICE.
WonderPlanet previously developed the popular puzzle game Crash Fever, to which Alice Fiction could be considered a spiritual successor. Developers describe Alice Fiction as a “high-speed puzzle RPG” with tile-matching gameplay reminiscent of other Android games like Tower of Saviors. However, the battle system resembles a traditional turn-based RPG.
Hololive vtubers Takanashi Kiara and Gawr Gura played the game as part of the livestrem showcase. During the show, Gura revealed that the musical duo FantasticYouth is releasing an English cover of the game’s theme song, “Un-Reality Escape.” Its release coincides with the game’s launch. Alice Fiction will also feature a special event collab with rhythm game Cytus 2 on August 10, 2022, during which Cytus 2 players will be able to play a remixed version of Un-Reality Escape for free.
Alice Fiction received over 800,000 pre-registrations by July 14, 2022. In addition, a closed beta for the game saw over 5,000 participants. Android and iOS users can pick it up now from Google Play and the App Store. Finally, be sure to check back later for our Hardcore Droid review.
