Ubisoft’s mobile Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Pirates, has gotten a bit of an update recently. The two biggest changes are the add-on content “Cold Blood” and the decision to make the game a freemium title.
The newest chapter leaves behind the warm Caribbean for the frigid Arctic Seas. A new crew member gathers resources to help players survive, and there are new ship customization options as well.
We previously reviewed Assassin’s Creed Pirates when it first dropped last year – the swashbuckling adventure earned a respectable 3 out of 5. If it anything like the vast majority of mobile freemium games we imagine Ubisoft’s decent pirate title will head steadily south, as Ubi has been doing ever since they embraced the pay to win marketing.
The game was recently on sale for, get this, a measly 10 cents (insert pirate joke about stealing here.) It was originally up for $4.99.
Are you guys willing to bite now that the game is free-to-play? Let us know in the comments.
