Bricks Breaker Hit Review

Shapes and Balls

Despite the ridiculously saturated landscape of shape-shattering mobile puzzlers, TunUpGames’ Bricks Breaker Hit is a hidden treasure. Launch balls to pop a blockade of shapes before they reach the bottom of the screen. It’s an intriguingly therapeutic experience that also sharpens the wits. Earn shiny karats by completing levels to purchase larger, more colorful balls. With only a few minor setbacks, this game is a good deal of fun. Throw on your favorite tunes and lose yourself in this simple yet immersive puzzle title.

Bricks-Breaker-Hit-Laser-Beams-AndroidSimple Geometry

Though you won’t need a protractor, Bricks Breaker Hit is a healthy geometric brain exercise. Much like the classic point-and-shoot puzzler Bubble Shooter, this game is all about angles. The premise is similar as well. Remove all shapes from the screen by hitting them with balls until they pop. Drag your finger along the bottom of the screen to adjust the trajectory of the balls. Then, let go and watch the magic happen. Each shape contains a number that tells players how many times they must be hit. However, it’s not as simple as it sounds.

As players progress through the levels, shapes appear in increasingly intricate formations. You’ll need to launch balls at just the right angle —pun slightly intended— to reach shapes at the top of the screen. Starting from the bottom also works but isn’t nearly as effective. Strategically plot your angles so balls get stuck between shapes and walls. This makes them bounce around, repeatedly striking every shape in proximity.

The shapes are either squares or triangles so players must account for how they will reflect incoming balls. Use them to your advantage when planning your strike. But beware. As the game gets harder, shapes act as a barrier at the bottom of the screen. Additionally, they move downward after each launch. Shapes at the bottom of the screen mean game over. It’s a tough judgement call; will you eliminate the barrier and hope to finish off the remaining shapes? Or will you strategically target the bulk of the shapes and finish off the barrier in a final fell swoop?

Beams and Bombs

Occasionally, players encounter special nodes among the shapes. These nodes make Bricks Breaker Hit much easier as they indicate beautiful destruction. Some deflect balls radially, while others shoot laser beams when struck. These beams strike every shape in the path indicated by the arrow shown on the node. Each time the laser shoots a shape, their number is reduced by one. Line up enough balls to fire these in rapid succession and you’ll make short work of the level. Moreover, they are bright and colorful which enhances the sensory experience.

The only downside to Bricks Breaker Hit is the lack of music. One would expect such a simple game to at least have a catchy soundtrack. Thankfully, the sound design is satisfying to the ears. The crisp popping sound of the shapes makes for a unique fast-paced ASMR experience. However, TunUpGames could have easily taken the audio a step further with music. Luckily, it’s easy enough to launch your own playlist in your preferred music streaming platform in the background. Perhaps this may even be what the developers intended. You’ll be so entranced that a soundtrack might actually become annoying after hours of gameplay. Then again, a simple on-off toggle switch would have done the trick. Regardless of these options, I’ve found that the game pairs perfectly with Township Rebellion’s album Vobia.

Ready Aim Download

Bricks Breaker Hit’s lack of music, occasional ads and small selection of new skins are a bit disappointing. But in the grand scheme of things, these are only minor pitfalls. Gameplay is bright, colorful, and engaging. This title blends in among a slew of similar puzzlers, but it’s certainly worth tracking down. Snag Bricks Breaker Hit from Google lay now and enjoy the geometric playground.

Is It Hardcore?
3.5

Pretty Much!

Bricks Breaker Hit is a fast-paced puzzler in which players launch balls to pop shapes before they reach the bottom of the screen. It’s a colorful and strategic spin on classics like Bubble Shooter.
