Who Said Endless Money Can’t Be Adorable?
Money, cats and cuteness? That’s what Cat Snack Bar is all about! This adorable idle game was developed by Treeplla, a Korean developer with five other simulation games. In Cat Snack Bar you are a cat with an entrepreneurial spirit and a vision of how to get things done. You’ll take it into your own paws to go from a small business to several franchises in the food industry. If you love Cats & Soup or Kitty Cat Tycoon this game will complete the trifecta.
To be completely honest, as soon as I saw cats, I was in. I didn’t care if it was a good or a bad game, I wanted to play it and was ready to love it. You can convince me to sell my soul to the devil if there are cats involved. So, I went to the Play Store and downloaded it, not expecting much more than cute cats and pretty colors. And when I started playing, I was, in fact, not impressed. It seemed to be what I expected, boring gameplay relying on cute visuals to sell. But I kept playing, and I’m glad that I did because it has become one of those games I go to de-stress.
Be a Cat, Build Your Empire
Cat Snack Bar is a very simple game with very pretty visuals. You need to gain money to add menus and upgrade them until you’ve maxed out the restaurant, and then you open the next. But it’s the simplicity that makes the game good. You don’t really have to do much of anything. You can just watch the cats be adorable while they work, and maybe upgrade a few menus.
There’s not much to say about Cat Snack Bar besides the fact that it is quite enjoyable. I don’t feel overly pressured to be checking every five seconds how I am doing. Or upgrade everything fast so I can run this most efficiently (and that’s saying a lot because I’m obsessive like that). Instead, I feel the pacing of the game lets you relax a lot while playing. You’ll gain money at a steady pace to unlock and upgrade menus and advantages constantly, so you’ll have that sense of improvement. But it won’t be as fast-paced as to feel you’re breezing through the content.
I will admit, however, that what really sold me on Cat Snack Bar was the limited event. There was this 3-day event where you also ran a guild-adventurers shop of magical items, and I was living for it. I mean, what’s not to love about magical cats? They have the recipe for success right there. The challenge in this event is higher because you have to level up the menus faster to get the rewards of said event. The gameplay was the same, though. Only that, instead of your regular cats as customers, you get soldier cats and wizard cats, and that was all I never knew I needed.
Pretty and Free
Furthermore, the art style and the animations made me want to stare at the screen for hours. They’re so cute. You can see different types of cats going to your dinners, restaurants and kiosks. The chef and waiter cats will doze off as soon as they stop working. You get to invite managers with pirate outfits, and you get to dress your orange cat, so you get buffs making him more efficient. Also, once you max out a restaurant, you move to the next, and you get different sceneries, so you don’t get bored of watching the same thing all the time.
And there are no ads! Well, there are, but you see them so infrequently I sometimes forgot about them. They will appear every time you return to the game and when you want to get some type of buff. Besides that, there are none. You can buy packs to unlock things faster or get more coins and even go ad-free, but it’s not necessary. So, there you have it. I highly recommend Cat Snack Bar to people that are obsessed with cats and want a cute casual game to decompress.
Is it Hardcore?
Almost there.
If you give me the guild as a permanent fixture it will be.
