Dead Cells fans are in for a fungal-flavored treat. Earlier this month, Playdigious Games announced the release of The Bad Seed DLC to the acclaimed metroidvania’s mobile port. The expansion, which was released on PC in February, grants players a collection of new monsters to eradicate, weapons to brandish, and levels to cruise. Furthermore, The Bad Seed offers new and improved sludge-laden biomes. The apex of said biomes contains Mama Tick, the abominable conglomerate of eyes and flesh that is the newest boss.

The addition of The Bad Seed DLC marks the second of three releases that are part of Prodigious Games’ effort to bring Dead Cells’ content to hardcore Android gamers. The first of these content releases, The Legacy Update, was released in the fall of 2020, and the third update is to be released in the summer of 2021. Between these three releases, Dead Cells connoisseurs have a litany of new content to be eager for.
The release of The Bad Seed coincides with Dead Cells reaching some laudable sales milestones. The innovative roguelike has sold 5 million units worldwide across all platforms since its release and 1 million mobile units in China over just a couple of days. Evidently, Dead Cells has a massive fanbase that the release of a unique and captivating DLC only serves to bolster. Dead Cells is currently available on iOS and Android for $8.99. The Bad Seed will be available on March 30 as an in-app purchase for $3.99. Be on the lookout for a HardcoreDroid review.
