Adventuring in Sanctuary
One of Blizzard’s newest mobile titles is nearing official release. Blizzard originally announced Diablo Immortal back in 2018. The game has been in development ever since. There have been two alphas since that announcement. One was in December 2020 and the most recent closed alpha began in April. There is no date for the official release yet, just that it will be dropped later this year. Blizzard has hinted that their plan is to drop Diablo Immortal before Diablo IV.
Blizzard promises a smooth MMORPG PC experience with an intuitive control system on your phone. The developer’s goal is to ensure a perfect mobile gaming experience that’s comparable to their seminal PC titles.
New Additions
Six playable classes will be available as of now. These classes are Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Crusader, Necromancer, and Wizard. Blizzard has guaranteed that these classes will have customization abilities that haven’t been seen in other Diablo titles. The developers have also promised that the gameplay will be similar to that of the core series. A key difference is that monetization and the ability to pay to win has been introduced. This has upset quite a few hardcore Diablo fans. This difference is not supposed to affect the story in any way.
The storyline places Diablo Immortal between the events of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III. Long time Diablo fans and new players to explore have a vast world to explore. The world of Sanctuary is in turmoil and ready for new adventurers. These heroes take up the mantle left behind by the missing Archangel Tyrael and fight against the forces of Hell. Blizzard has brought back old enemies and introduced new characters. All of this is done to ensure that the new title fits smoothly within the Diablo timeline.
Registration for Diablo Immortal is currently available through Google Play or on the official site. System requirements for Android and iOS can also be found on the official site. Pre-registering gives you the chance to participate in future betas as well as in-game rewards!
