Welcome to the Dungeon
Indie game publisher Playdigious has announced that they’re bringing the award-winning Dungeon of the Endless to Android. This version of the popular game is being released under the title Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee. This will include the original game plus all five DLC in one package. Pre-registration is currently open on Google Play for the rogue-like dungeon-defense game, which is slated to drop on March 16th.
The premise of the game is that a ship full of prison inmates are traveling to an unexplored planet in order to colonize it. However, upon arrival a cloaked defensive system attacks their ship, destroying it. The escape pods crash land on the planet, deep within a facility built by the Endless, an ancient space-faring alien species. Now the prisoners, crew and civilians from the ship must work together to navigate through the labyrinthine tunnels of the facility up to the planet’s surface. At the same time, they must protect the ship’s power crystal. Needless to say, they soon discover they’re not alone down there.
In Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, the player gathers a team of heroes and sends them out to explore the dungeon. Each character has their own advantages and disadvantages. You’ll scavenge for resources and technology to improve your heroes and help them survive. You’ll also look for Dust to power the rooms you find, and you’ll build modules to hold off waves of monsters. Be wary though, because you never know what’s behind the next door, and it’s a long way to the surface.
Playdigious has redesigned the game for mobile, and they promise a revamped interface and no ads or in-app purchases. Will Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee be as successful on the Android as it has on other platforms? Find out for yourself soon, or wait for the review to drop here at Hardcore Droid.
