City of Zombies
NetEase’s new mobile game Fading City features just about everything a fan of post-apocalyptic media could ask for. It has invading zombies, a wasteland that represents humanity’s shattered achievements and values, and a weird blue fog. Faded City’s still in development, though its closed beta is now underway.
Fading City is an open-world survival game that runs on Unreal Engine 4. It takes place in the ruins of Weidu City, where humans lived peacefully until the blue fog descended and powerful zombies attacked and forced them underground. As a player of the game, you will primarily work as a team to collect equipment and resources to survive and battle against the zombies. This means you have free range to explore Weidu City, with its many dungeons and hidden treasures spread out over a million square meters. You also have many options to customize your weapons or find creative ways to kill zombies like stealth assassinations.
Although it’s only a closed beta right now, Fading City looks really promising. At the very least, there seems to be a lot going on. A beta test is a great way to get to know a game before it comes out, so you might as well give this a shot. Or if you don’t, you could always wait for the Hardcore Droid review to come out with the finished game.
