Choosing Sides
The balance of light and dark reaches its tipping point in Fate of an Empire, now available on the Google Play Store. This is the latest title of Swedish developer Peter Norberg, the latest sequel in Norberg’s Rising Empires series. The first of which was Hardcore Droid’s Best Android Strategy Game You Never Heard Of back in 2015.
Following its progenitors, you will fight with your very own army in turn-based grid combat. With over 120 different buildings to construct within your city and an extensive technology research tree, there appears to be quite an extensive amount of content here.
Freedom of choice is a key part of Fate of an Empire’s core gameplay. In particular, filling out the ranks of your army are your choice of soldiers from one of six races. Elves, Humans, Greenskins, Krant, Ende, and Dwarves, all of whom have unique abilities and boosts, reflecting the player’s preferred playstyle. Additionally, players have the choice to engage in combat in either the “Surface” or “Netherworld.” This adds to the array of path-defining options.
Follow the path of the light or of darkness, and carve out your own legacy in Fate of an Empire. As always, be sure to keep your eyes on Hardcore Droid for an upcoming review.
