Godzilla’s Appetite for Destruction

With 2020 in the rearview mirror, and all the frustrations that came with it, what better way to unleash those frustrations than with a good old-fashioned rampage? If you’ve ever wanted to take the reins of the legendary lizard creature to smash, plunder, demolish and cause total havoc with every step you take, now you can. TOHO Games has announced the release of their upcoming game, Godzilla Destruction, coming April 27th to Android devices.

Godzilla is experiencing a resurgence due to the new film, Godzilla vs. Kong, which is perfect timing for the game. A new trailer features aspects of the destructive gameplay, and yes, it looks terrific. It seems there isn’t much in the way of story or plot, which is fine. Every once in a while, gamers need some kind of stress reducer. I can’t think of a better way than rolling through pristine cities, leveling skyscrapers, swatting at incoming helicopters and leaving an aftermath of twisted metal along the city streets.

To up the coolness factor to new heights, Godzilla now has laser vision ability, feeding his destructive nature tenfold. The trailer footage features Godzilla expelling a torrent of energy, wrecking massive stadiums and monuments with a single kill-shot stare.

We still have a couple of weeks until the game’s release on April 27th for Android devices, but Godzilla Destruction seems to be just the kind of experience players need right now: a fun and mindless way to expel their aggressions. Sign me up. Check out the trailer below and stay tuned for Hardcore Droid’s official review upon release.
