Cuisine Eating Machine
A purrfect way to waste some time. Greedy Cats: Kitty Clicker is an utterly charming idle simulation game released by New Zealand publisher PikPok. There is nothing better than making your adorable cat eat super cute food against other competitors. So then you can buy pretty little outfits and more cats.
Greedy Cats’ main component is the idle clicker centering around an eating competition. You start out by picking one of two colored cats—orange or pink—then you begin the game. Tapping to eat the food on the table, your goal is to clear eight plates to get a new component. Winning trophies moves you along the path to stardom where you earn a reward after ten trophies. This also switches up the food your cat is eating. Matches include eating desserts, burgers, ramen, and even ice cream. Every plate eaten and competitor defeated earns you little kitty tokens that you use to upgrade.
To have more munching power, you can upgrade your cat or buy fan kitties to cheer you on. Both options essentially do the same thing. Fans can be seen behind the competition in the stands. Each new cat has a name and different design. One cat might be called “Panda” and looks just like you would imagine. Another might be a black cat named “Shadow”. All the cats wear the costumes you buy or get from chests. Costumes increase chomping power and provides a fan bonus—which is pretty much still chomping power.
Sprinkles Are For Winners
As an idle clicker, Greedy Cats manages to create enough fun to keep you busy. Along with the main game, they have events that you can join to earn items and outfits. Events have a time limit, so you must join in quickly—some only last 24 hours. The events are just another eating competition clicker that you start from scratch. This title also has a garden feature where you plant trees that will grow donuts, kitty tokens, or other currency. Donuts are exclusive to the gardening tab and are used for special limited time donut costumes.
Costumes can get frustrating. Pink crystals are required for certain outfits which can hinder players from getting the clothing they really want. These crystals are given out for rewards, but you can also buy them for real money. Each day you can open one free box that contains an outfit piece by watching an ad. Opening anymore random boxes a day requires more pink crystals. Gardening is also really limited. Three plots are open, and you can use crystals to open more. Even if you do that, you can only buy one seed packet at a time unless you use more crystals.
Meow We’re Talking
All the features fit the theme of the title very well. They don’t seem out of place or random but add more charm to the already cutesy style. The graphics of Greedy Cats is very bright and colorful. Everything has a cartoony aesthetic. Ultimately, simply adorable, everything is adorable.
Fans of idle clickers are likely to enjoy this title. Not only is the storyline an interesting and unique way to set up an idle game, it makes sense. Everything about this title just fits so perfectly that I don’t question anything. Greedy Cats manages to create an utterly adorable idle clicker that overcomes the heavy-handed premium currency with well-designed content.
