A New GWENT Adventure
CD PROJEKT RED introduces the first single-player standalone expansion for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game. The expansion, titled GWENT: Rogue Mage, is now available for PC, Mac, Android and IOS.
GWENT: Rogue Mage takes place hundreds of years before Geralt, protagonist of the Witcher franchise, was born. In his stead, players take on the role of Alzur, an ambitious mage, as he and his companion Lily journey to find a sentient weapon capable of destroying the infinite monsters being drawn into the world by the Conjunction of Spheres.
GWENT With Roguelike Elements
GWENT: The Witcher Card Game is based on GWENT, the popular card game from the Witcher games. Players collect cards, build their decks and battle in fast-paced PVP duels. GWENT Rogue Mage offers the same deckbuilding mechanics and strategic GWENT card battles as GWENT: The Witcher Card Game while also offering roguelike elements.
Players will guide Alzur across treacherous land to hunt down legendary monsters and harvest mutagens. The game also includes hundreds of cards to collect, representing potent spells and other resources. Players can upgrade cards or even play them in combination to rain devastation on the foes.
As players progress, they’ll unlock achievements and potentially gain legendary treasures. GWENT: Rogue Mage also offers a plethora of modifiers allowing players to customize the game’s difficulty to their liking.
Since the game is single-player, spotty Wi-Fi won’t be an issue like with most multiplayer games. However, how fans will receive this title in comparison to the original PvP title is yet to be seen. Currently, the game is available for 9.99 on the Google Play store. Additional information is available on the game’s official website and as always, stay tuned for Hardcore Droid’s review.
