From Zero to Hero
Tragedy strikes in the Divine Realm once again. This month, Heroic Expedition makes its grand debut on the Google Play Store. And that can only mean one thing: the Lord of Disaster is at it again.
This new idle RPG from DH Games looks to include several different game modes. There is a story mode where you have to battle the forces of evil in order to save your home, the Divine Realm. Additionally, there is a PvP mode where you have the chance to compete against other players around the world. To do this, you will assemble a roster of epic heroes and tweak your team to become the most powerful. You can also build your own city and explore dungeons and labyrinths.
Honestly, I don’t know what to make of this one. It looks like someone took Dreamworks’ 2013 film The Croods and turned it into a generic idle MMORPG. According to the game’s Google Play page, Heroic Expedition incorporates elements of Norse mythology. However, as someone who’s watched a lot of YouTube videos on that topic, I’m not really seeing Norse lore reflected in anything except maybe the character’s outfits.
But here’s the thing, this game could be awesome. It doesn’t matter what it looks like, the unique RPG elements of this singular game could be exactly what your mind craves from a mobile gaming experience. Maybe the art style will grow on you? With animation like that, they obviously had a pretty substantial budget. Someone at DH Games might have really nailed it, and you’ll never know until you actually try the game. How infuriating! Although, you could wait for the Hardcore Droid review to come out and then decide.
