How to Optimize a Smartphone for a Better Gaming Experience?

Spread the love

Even though mobile video games do not have requirements that are as high as console or computer video games, you can still expect to run into certain performance issues. A better-optimized smartphone provides a smoother gaming experience. Besides, it is not just trying to work out methods to boost the smartphone’s performance. There are other ways that are just as valuable if you want to have a better overall gaming experience on your mobile device. So, without further ado, we present you with How to Optimize a Smartphone for a Better Gaming Experience.

Disable Background Apps

Smartphones games are known to consume quite a few resources. As such, if you are playing on a device that is relatively lackluster in terms of total available resources, you want to maximize what is available to you.

The first thing you want to do is kill the background applications. Smartphone memory and other resources will free up, which means that the smartphone can dedicate them to a video game you are playing. It should be a significant step in helping you improve the overall gaming experience.

Remove Notifications

Even though some mobile games take up the entire screen and have a function to ignore certain smartphone notifications, you are still better off disabling notifications while playing.

You want to focus on a video game, first and foremost, which means that various distractions, such as random pop-ups and other notifications, are an annoyance you want to avoid.

Be careful about which notifications you disable, however. You do not want to miss important phone calls and texts. And after you finish your gaming session, remember to enable the notifications you disabled beforehand, so you do not miss something important.

Optimize the Battery

As already mentioned, mobile games are notorious for consuming a lot of resources. This is especially the case if you are playing one of those higher-end video games that excel in graphics. For example, something like Genshin Impact.

It is important to keep an eye on the smartphone’s battery. You have examples of laptop users having to deal with battery-related issues. For instance, a battery draining too fast on Ventura, Linux, or MS Windows. And laptop batteries are much more capable than smartphone batteries.

So what can you do to prepare for a relatively long gaming session on a mobile device? Besides getting rid of redundant background applications that hog battery and other resources, you can also lower the smartphone’s brightness.

Some video games also have settings that you can tweak to improve the battery lifespan. Think about various effects and lower graphics that can be modified and result in a prolonged battery lifespan on your smartphone.

Finally, if you do not have an outlet available near you, charge the smartphone, so the battery is at 100%. This way, you will maximize the available gaming time.

Try Different Mobile Games

If you are an avid mobile gamer, you might end up in a situation when playing the same or similar games over and over becomes a hassle rather than a fun pastime.

In such cases, switching to something else and getting out of your comfort zone is one possible approach. Let’s say that you have never played a puzzle game and are a fan of action and strategy instead. Or vice-versa.

Check the top charts or read various recommendations on the Internet in which other mobile game enthusiasts review various mobile games. You are bound to find some suggestions that you can try. And who knows, you might stumble upon a game that will bring you a lot of fun.

Find a Comfortable Place to Play Games

Mobile gaming does not require as complicated a setup as playing on a computer or console. You can find comfort pretty much anywhere so long as there is a place to sit down comfortably.

Nevertheless, you should not underestimate how much of a difference a proper chair or anything else that supports your back can make.

It is not just about the comfort factor. You also need to consider the fact that if you are planning to sit down for a while, it is necessary to take your health into consideration as well. Poor posture leads to back problems, and that is certainly one of the things you want to avoid.

Consider Gaming Accessories

It should not come as a surprise that mobile gaming has accessories as well. For some, the idea of going for third-party peripherals is quite far-fetched when a smartphone is often enough.

On the other hand, an optimal gaming experience could be improved even more with accessories.

A mobile game controller, a grip, wireless Bluetooth earbuds, an adjustable phone stand, a micro SD card for storage, and cleaning cloth are examples of the most notable mobile gaming accessories.
