Become Battleworld’s New Champion

Marvel released its latest game MARVEL Realm of Champions on the Google Play Store this week. Developed by Kabam Games, this entry into the Marvel universe is a real-time mobile multiplayer action-RPG game that gives players access to customizable Marvel characters. Heroes and villains from alternate timelines fight in Battleworld. Maestro, the creator of Battleworld, is mysteriously killed, creating a power vacuum for players to fill as they work to become the new champion.

The game’s narrative follows learning the secrets of Battleworld as well as solving the murder of Maestro. Kabam Games promises ferocious battles with characters from across the Marvel Universe past and present. Apart from the story players can take part in a variety of games modes. Some of these modes include real-time 3v3 Arena Conquests and a 15-wave enemy run called Onslaught. Players may also join or create their own Alliances to team up with other players for multiplayer battles. Battleworld hosts several Battle Arenas, from the wastelands of the Hulk Gamma Horde to the high-tech cityscapes made of Iron Man’s Stark Tech. Along the way players can personalize their Champion with a variety of gear, abilities, and weapon upgrades. Kabam Games claims players can build a well-rounded team of Marvel Champions that cater to personal playstyles.

Marvel Contest of Champions, also developed by Kabam Games, released in December 2014 to a generally positive response. The game’s successor carries over elements like Alliances as well as an original storyline. Only time will tell if MARVEL Realm of Champions lives up to its predecessor’s success. Stay tuned for the Hardcore Droid review.
