Raise the Dead to Stay Alive

Power and glory await in the graveyards of the world! I hope you brought a shovel. Just kidding. You don’t need a shovel in DAERISOFT’s latest ambition, Merge Raid.io. This battle royale RPG grants you the power of necromancy to summon powerful allies, but your powers don’t stop there. Merge newly summoned heroes to construct even greater warriors and wizards. Lead your favorite summons into three different game types to either destroy other players or join them in epic raids. There’s an underworld full of unique abilities, combat styles, and a passive talent tree at your disposal. How will you raid?

Ogres and Elves and Zombies, Oh My!

The home screen looks down upon a graveyard. You, the necromancer, majestically stand atop a glowing tomb. A diverse cacophony of potential allies ferments in the ground below. And dark magic does not discriminate. Tap the summon button to instantly spawn level one creatures. You have a limit of 10 summons at a time. Luckily, the summon button refreshes quickly. Combine your summons with others of the same level by dragging them together. This merges them into a single creature one level higher. Merging higher level creatures takes time using this method though. The fastest way to assemble your mightiest crew is to purchase them in the store. Most can be purchased using gold and gems collected in battle; while a few specialty summons cost real money.

Discovering Rare Allies is Part of the Fun

Read and upgrade each characters’ stats and abilities in either of the two summon lists. The basic summon list contains all creatures that you’ll likely use to merge rather than fight. The rare summon list contains the most powerful heroes. They only become visible on the list once you’ve built or purchased them. Merge level 10s to discover the rarest of the rare. However, the rarer they are the lower their summon chance. Meaning you’ll end up with a lot of duplicates. Luckily, you can deconstruct your rare summons in exchange for gold, gems, and honor points.

DAERISOFT discovered a creative combination of art styles that gives Merge Raid.io a unique visual identity. Your units are 2D pixel art models that run about in a sharp, crisp 3D world. This merging of retro and modern appearances makes even the most menial summoning grind exciting to watch.

To Battle!

A unique feature of Merge Raid.io is the option to customize the formation of your team on the battlefield. Tap the compass button to arrange your heroes around your leader. They will maintain this formation regardless of the direction you move. This can make or break your setup. Once you have arranged your heroes, enter any of the three game types from the home screen. On the battlefield, lightning bolts scattered across the map can be collected by running into them. These grant you experience points in addition to killing enemies. Running into hearts will recharge your health. Each time you reach maximum experience, you level up and receive a prompt to choose between three abilities. These range from increased damage or speed to powerful spells that automatically attack enemies or defend your allies.

The first game type is the Open Field, which is a great way to test new teams of combatants. Drag your finger in any direction to move your team. You have eleven minutes to fight mobs or the handful of other players assigned to the same session. Red dots on the map indicate the location of NPC enemies. You’ll earn bonus points and gold for lasting the whole time.

Compete with other players in the Battle Royale to be the last necromancer standing. Every 30 seconds, the map shrinks, bringing you and your adversaries closer together. The boundaries are set by a wall of thick green fog that damages your units.

Queue up to raid with other players on your regional server to conquer the third game type. Many players reach out via the pleasantly vibrant and supportive in-game chat to find raid buddies. Defeat the boss and collect your bounty of currency, and possibly meet new friends.

A Solid RPG Experience

Merge Raid.io is straightforward in concept, yet infinitely dynamic in play style. Gameplay goes on forever as the developers continuously update; adding achievements and daily quests. DAERISOFT is listening to their active player base in the chats and are rolling out new patches and maintenance regularly.

Is It Hardcore?

Indeed

Merge Raid.io by DAERISOFT is a dynamic battle royale RPG that grants you the power of endless upgrades to either challenge or join forces with other players in a cleverly pixelated battleground.
