Go Bananas!

The inventive and stylish side-scrolling Shmup smash hit of 2019, My Friend Pedro, is making its mobile debut! Coming in the form of a freshly announced mobile-exclusive spin-off, My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge. The recent endeavor from indie darling publisher Devolver Digital sees the slow-mo shooter in a more simplified, stylized aesthetic. One that some may find downright cute!

For those unfamiliar with the series, the premise is simple: A masked silent protagonist dual-wielding machine pistols is on a mission. One given to him by a talking banana named Pedro. He needs to systematically eliminate some “very bad people” as gracefully and stylishly as possible. This time, they’ve kidnapped Pedro’s wife and kids and left him for dead. But it’s going to take more than that to split this banana’s family. The masked protagonist needs to help his friend Pedro serve some ice cold revenge, with a sprinkle of bullets on top!

Developer Deadtoast Entertainment translates this title to mobile by sprinkling in endless runner and rail-shooter elements. These come in the form of skateboard and motorcycle sections, respectively. They boast 37 action-packed levels for you to practice your ballistic ballet skills in. If your high-caliber choreography is up to snuff, then you’ll also be able to test your skills in the Blood Rush mode.

My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge will deliver on its promise of bringing blood, bullets and bananas to Android and iOS devices on August 5th. If you’re feeling the hype already, you can pre-register for the free-to-slay carnage right over here. You can also be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Hardcore Droid’s review sometime real soon!
