Artificial Intelligence
UK developers Dream Harvest announced their latest title, NeuroNet: Mendax Proxy is available for pre-registration on Android. NeuroNet: Mendax Proxy is a character-driven choose-your-own-adventure style game. In this post-cyberpunk adventure, you take on the role of Arc, an AI charged with running a city. You’ll manage the wants and needs of the city’s inhabitants through a Tinder-like interface.
Managing a City
As Arc you run a city-wide augmented reality network known as the “NeuroNet.” Therefore, as you grow, you’ll become involved in the lives of many of Catena’s diverse citizens. Subsequently, as your relationships with them deepen, you’ll learn about their struggles and beliefs. As a result, you’ll have the opportunity to help them achieve their dreams. Furthermore, your choices will change their lives. Ultimately, your purpose is to stabilize the city by balancing the needs of the citizenry. However, it won’t be easy. Your morality will be tested, and you’ll have to decide who you serve.
NeuroNet: Mendax Proxy promises a branching narrative that promises to explore humanity’s reliance on technology. You’ll manage a variety of city resources, and have to balance various elements within the game. For example, these include Catena’s prosperity, public opinion, the axis of order and your degree of power. You’ll meet and develop relationships with 23 diverse fully voiced characters. The game features 6+ hours of gameplay with over 5000 unique story cards. There are also discoverable mini-games and secrets. A large Codex containing character and environment art is included, along with an original soundtrack. Stay tuned for the Hardcore Droid review.
