Mysterious changes in the weather plague the island of Pasio. The cause? The legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre, of course! It all happens in Pokémon Masters EX’s latest event, Land and Sea Awaken. Players take on the leaders of Teams Aqua and Magma, controlling these magnificent creatures for nefarious purposes.
Earlier in the month, players participating in Phase 1 of the event received Weather Survey Tickets. In Phase 2 (running now from May 16-May 27), these tickets unlock access to these especially dynamic battles to earn special rewards.
Make It Rain
Ultimately, the total number of event-phase completions will determine whether players receive an Aqua or Magma Pin in-game. Through fully upgrading this pin, stats for Sync pairs of the same typing will raise their HP by 30 and Speed by 20. For Sync Pairs with different typing than the badges (Aqua being Water Type and Magma being Ground), the event raises HP by 15 and Speed by 10. The game’s official site affirms that players who miss out on either pin will have the opportunity to earn them in future events and content.
Additional reward tiers will become available as all concurrent players of the Pokémon Masters EX event complete battles. For instance, in-game currency and candy may unlock after between one million and five million total completions by all players. Also, consecutive log-in bonuses and special event missions sweeten the deal to entice trainers to come back for more.
