June 24, 2015 – Shiver Entertainment and Nexon M revealed their next mobile title during a private luncheon at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Beasts vs Bots is a fast-paced real-time strategy game tailored for touch control on mobile phones and tablets. PVP is played in synchronous battles using touch and gesture controls to command huge armies in their quest to destroy their opponent’s base, while laying waste to city buildings based on real-life major cities like Orlando and Miami, with plans to add Paris, NYC, L.A. and more. Beasts vs Bots will be available on Google Play for Android devices later in 2015, though an exact release date has yet to be set.
Redefining the Mobile RTS PVP
“Beasts vs Bots brings real-time strategy gaming to mobile. In Beasts vs Bots, players can choose to take control of two factions: an invading race of alien robots looking to consume the Earth or a species of ancient beasts awakened to defend their home world.
In each battle, players must destroy buildings to collect resources, create troops, and strategically command their armies across the battlefield to destroy their opponent’s base.
Players can jump right into battle—without waiting for troops—where they must compete to destroy the city buildings that provide resources for creating troops in battle. They then choose to select and move individual troops, groups of troops, or all troops of a certain type, just as they would in a traditional RTS game. My hands-on experience with Beasts vs Bots was actually quite fun, with intuitive controls reminiscent of the Starcraft and Command & Conquer series.
Building Your Base
Outside of PvP matches, players prepare for battle by building out their base with additional offensive and defensive buildings, as well as upgrading their troops. This runs similar to most every other RTS mobile game on Android.
