Short Attention Spans Finally Useful
Have you ever wanted to ruin your life 10 seconds at a time by engrossing yourself so much in a game that you ignore all of your responsibilities? Well, soon you can, on March 26, with Spanish developer Majorariatto’s upcoming release Pureya.
Helmed and designed by Alva Majo, Pureya aims to alleviate the monotony of classic, albeit repetitive, arcade games. Featuring a new fast-paced minigame every 10 seconds, players flap, dodge, tap and shoot their way through a 30-strong library of deceivingly simple yet chaotic games brought to life by the art and animation of YouTuber and muscular-cat enthusiast ChardiTronic.
In line with Pureya’s focus on fast-paced and varied gameplay, two simple buttons control all 30 minigames. Expect to see some familiarities. Some of Pureya’s games are reminiscent of well-known titles like Asteroids, Flappy Bird and Majorariatto’s earlier game, Shipped.
Players also collect marbles scattered throughout the games to cash in at the pachinko machine. Prizes vary from skins and collectibles to new minigames for even more challenge and variation. As Pureya is a full-priced release, all content can be earned 100% in game. There is no need for spending more on premium currencies or time skips. Oh, and it comes with a full original soundtrack by Majorariatto veteran composer Alejandro Maciá.
A seasoned development studio with three full releases under its belt, Majorariatto finds another niche by folding the challenge of skill-based minigames with the reward of mechanisms common to more traditional gaming like pachinko. Pureya is available to pre-register now on the Google Play Store and will release on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux on March 26, 2021.
