A new hack and slash title has just hit the Google Play Store. Shadow Hunter: Lost World by Enigma Software is still in development, but the studio has released an early access version. Enigma’s promised a dark fantasy RPG where the player is a shadow hunter battling demons to save the world. Many fantasy RPGs use this classic trope to varying degrees of success.
Demons invaded the world of Shadow Hunter and only a few humans survived. Some of these become the eponymous shadow hunters who hunt down the demons. An unknown deity blessed these shadow hunters with the ability to kill demons. Continually defeating the demons threatening the world of Shadow Hunter is how players upgrade their equipment.
The studio is still developing Shadow Hunters and there is no class system in place yet but one is forthcoming. Right now hundreds of offensive and defensive items are available for continuous upgrades. The developers promise a one-of-a-kind character control mechanism for their RPG. With said mechanism, they hope to create a truly immersive RPG world. Four different play modes will be available in future updates, along with a PvP arena. Something to take note of is that one of Shadow Hunter’s advertised key features is offline play. Even so, the PvP arena won’t be available for a while. But the rest of Shadow Hunter’s features are accessible for play. This includes their three special dungeons levels: “Altar of the Darkness”, “Boss Mode”, and “Clock Tower of Challenges”.
