Slashy Camp – Endless Runner Review

Throwback Throwdown

Get ready for a non-stop killing spree! Slashy Camp – Endless Runner is an arcade game that allows you to play through an endless map. From the same developer who brought us Slayaway Camp, Blue Wizard Digital now gives players a new, unique runner game. Race through the campsite as SkullFace while you compete for high scores and unlock 1980 movie villain skins and exciting weapons.

Slashy Camp Endless Runner Game Play

Slashy Camp keeps all the great elements that players loved in Slayaway Camp. To play, you simply have to swipe your finger in the direction you want SkullFace to go. Moving into a teen will kill them, but you can also get them to run straight into danger. Making them flee into the lake or campfires will take them out for you and provide more points.

SkullFace is back again to rid the world of those pesky teens. This time, however, he is hindered by new obstacles, more and more of which appear the further you go. Killing the campers is simple at the start, but you will find it more challenging as you progress. Paths can be blocked by holes, trees, rocks or bushes. Sometimes, you might even have to pause your movement to avoid timed spiked traps. Additionally, cops can arrest you and hunters can shoot you. It’s also game over if you kill one of the cute animals placed on the map. A large text saying “Animal Cruelty” will appear on the screen.

Killer Upgrades

Slashy Camp Character Unlock Screen

As you make your way through Slashy Camp, you can find weapons that you’ve unlocked. They give bonuses for the next kill and show a sweet death animation. Once you face a camper while holding the weapon, you will enter a short mini game. A meter appears, and you have to click when the cursor is in the small red space. If you miss, the camper “got away” and you’ll have to kill them without the weapon.

Every run gives you experience that will level you up. You will unlock a new 1980 horror villain skin or weapon with every new level. Instead of playing as SkullFace, you can be Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees or the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Skins don’t change how the game is played. They are just a fun addition that let you play as your favorite killers. So far, there are 20 skins to unlock.

The best part of Slashy Camp is the mindless, addicting gameplay. Players can use clever strategy to maximize the points or mindlessly slash through as fast as you can. It takes a few playthroughs to learn how to get through obstacles. There isn’t a guide on how to play, so you’ll have to learn as you go. In the beginning, you will see the negative effects of finishing levels too quickly. After every run, you will get an ad. While you’re still getting to grips with how everything works, you will see a lot more. This will be highly reduced after you start to get the hang of the game or choose to purchase the paid version.

Final Camper

Overall, Slashy Camp is an addicting arcade game that provides endless entertainment and increasingly tricky puzzles. A seamless system that provides new trials at just the right time to avoid tedious gameplay. This free-to-play title can get tiring if you repeatedly fail to progress to new challenges or are faced with one too many ads. Having the ability to upgrade to remove ads can give players a way to avoid this pitfall, but that costs real money. In the end, Slashy Camp offers a great way to blow off some steam with non-stop killer gameplay that doesn’t get repetitive.

Is It Hardcore?

It's a killer!

Slashy Camp – Endless Runner manages to stay fresh through never-ending levels by increasing challenging obstacles. Unlocking new villain skins and weapons helps to keep players from running out of exciting gameplay.
