Chibi Sorceress
Highbrow’s recently released Sorceress Idle: AFK RPG is available now on Google Play. The new idle RPG features customizable chibi-style characters with the power to unleash screen-filling magical abilities. Launched on October 5th, the game’s accrued over 100,000 downloads in the five days since release. Unfortunately, its launch hasn’t been wholly successful, with a user rating of only 2.2 Stars.
Sorceress Idle tasks players with gathering spells and items to tackle bosses and clear rooms full of enemies. The game features a variety of skills for the player to unlock, and it encourages players to mix and match for different effects. Doing so is necessary to take advantage of enemies’ various elemental strengths and weaknesses. Players can also join guilds and participate in ranked matches with other players online. Additionally, Sorceress Idle lets players customize their adorable chibi sorceress with dozens of unique costumes.

A Troubled Release
Unfortunately, the idle RPG seems to have had an unfortunate launch. Players complained of frequent crashes, slowdowns, and difficulty connecting to the game’s server. And while developers are reportedly working on these issues, it’s unclear if Highbrow’s managed to resolve all the game’s issues. Many problems seem to stem from an influx of players putting a strain on the servers.
It’s perfectly believable that developers seriously underestimated the size of their player base and simply need to upgrade ther servers. Then again, Highbrow has experienced similar problems with some other games, indicating it may be a chronic issue with the studio. The server-side issues already had a negative effect on Sorceress Idle’s Google Play reviews, which may discourage others from picking it up. Only time will tell if the game manages to overcome its poor start.
Players can try Sorceress Idle: AFK RPG for themselves by downloading it from the Google Play store. Also, be sure to check back later for its upcoming review here on Hardcore Droid.
