Spin Cycle
Super Spin Studios’ dizzying rhythm game Spin Rhythm is gyrating its way onto the Google Play Store. The original title, Spin Rhythm XD has been ported to mobile format by publisher Habby. Now Android users can download this version for free. An acclaimed title on steam, this release features heart-pounding and blood-pumping rhythm gameplay.
Like other music and rhythm games such as Dance Dance Revolution or Guitar Hero, the gameplay involves controls that you have to match up with musical notes that appear on the screen. In Spin Rhythm, the player rotates a multi-colored wheel, trying to align the colorful sections of the wheel with the different colored notes as they pop up. It looks to be both simple and a lot of fun. But the developers added another twist—literally. At certain points you have to spin the wheel in a full rotation. This means you won’t just be lazily turning a knob; things will get fast!
The soundtrack of Spin Rhythm includes songs from musicians like Hyper Potions, Nitro Fun, Haywyre, Tut Tut Child, Panda Eyes and many more. I don’t know who any of them are. Based on the music from the trailer, I would say most, if not all, of these groups are dubstep and EDM producers and DJ’s. Even if that’s not your most listened-to genre of music, I think you could still have some fun playing this game. There’s something about watching the trailer that makes me want to just jump in and start spinning. If you have any doubts yourself, wait for the full Hardcore Droid review.
