Creepy Kingdoms
Leaves are falling, pumpkins are being carved and Spooky Wars has just arrived on Android. Published by Impossible Apps, Spooky Wars brings a bit of Halloween flair to the tower defense genre. Players can build and upgrade an army of classic Halloween creatures to defend their kingdom and crush their enemies.

Impossible Apps is a relative newcomer to the mobile gaming market. Spooky Wars is only their second game to appear on Android. Their first game, Tower Crush, debuted in 2015 and received positive but not quite glowing reviews. Spooky Wars is a very similar game but has a few new twists in store. There’s still a castle to defend, but players now have an army of monsters at their beck and call. Instead of hurling catapult stones at your opponent, the goal is to overwhelm them with your horde of ghosts and ghouls.
The game promises 50 unlockable monsters and spells to use in battle. Creatures include Halloween staples such as witches, zombies and vampires, as well as more exotic creatures like killer clowns, evil scarecrows and headless flaming horses. Players will also need to keep an eye on their castle. The tower may not be the main attraction anymore, but it’s still important. Its defenses can be upgraded with everything from cannons and crossbows to lasers and lightning guns.

Spooky Wars offers six different environments and three game modes. These include a standard tower defense mode and 1v1 battles against other players or the AI. Spooky Wars make no bones about being a tower defense game at heart. Still, the developers hope its fast-paced strategy gameplay will mesh well with the systems brought over from Tower Crush. Spooky wars had originally been announced back in February and came out of beta on October 24th, just in time for Halloween.
