Look to the Stars
Do you like MMOs but don’t think they have enough house parties or adorable animal companions? Do you long to be carried around on a platter by a large furry creature? LRGame certainly hopes you are, as their new mobile MMORPG Stella Arcana: Eternal Stars is now available from Google Play and the App Store.
Stella Arcana tasks players with defending the Light Realm from the minions of Chaos, the God of Darkness. For eons, the mystical power of the twelve constellations have held Chaos at bay. However, the Light Realm’s inhabitants have slowly forgotten their ancient beliefs, causing the constellation to lose their power. It falls to the players to push back the darkness and restore the constellations to power. If, of course, they can draw themselves away from playing with the various fluffy critters.
Stella Arcana’s developers, LRGame, promise an experience that’s precisely as casual or hardcore as the player wants it to be. Players can explore the world, engage in epic boss fights alone or with friends, create or join a guild or engage in ranked PVP matches. You know, the usual MMO stuff. However, it’s not all quests and bosses as Stella Arcana offers a variety of more relaxing activities. These include decorating a player-owned house, throwing parties, fishing, or catching and taming a wide variety of pets. The latter featured pretty heavily in the trailer, so expect to spend a lot of time wrangling fuzzy friends. Stella Arcana even seems to be trying to pull double duty as a dating app, allowing players to go on virtual dates. I’m not sure I’d want to go on a virtual date in an MMO, but the option is there.
