Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3, is unlike any other season I’ve seen since discovering the game in 2017. For this season, the theme this time around isn’t necessarily a genre, like Marvel superheroes or alien invaders, but rather a certain style. This time around, it is all about the vibes and the fashionistas that are part of the Season 3 battle pass. To help you stand out in the digital playground, here are the best Fortnite skins of Season 3.
Selection Criteria
When coming up with this list, I first noted the theme of the season, which is vibes. Does the skin bring any vibes to the table of any kind? With the fashion style of this season, does it offer anything fresh or new when it comes to clothing or skin variants?
I also took into consideration how the skins stacked up against the others in the season. This was one of the weaker seasons in a while for skins, so that part wasn’t too hard to solve. Lastly, I considered what kind of accessories and relevant items go with each skin, because that can sometimes help a just alright skin become an excellent one with the right glider, pickaxe, and back bling combo.
Best Fortnite Skins of Season 3 Picks
Admittedly, this wasn’t the best season for skins, but there were some standouts among the crowd that helped to elevate this batch to at least be memorable. In the end, I came up with the four best Fortnite skins of Season 3, since Indiana Jones and new characters like Sabina and Snap just didn’t do it for me.
4. Malik
When it comes to the styles and vibes of Season 3, Malik is one of the strongest examples. His hairstyle is wholly unique for a Fortnite skin, and his outfit is a flashy mix of a modern knight with his cape and armor.
What helps him to stand out are the different variants he has, including the exceptional black and gold skin style. He also has some of the best post-battle pass variants, like the tremendous Auric Blaze.
3. Evie
The art style and detail in Fortnite have changed over the years, and Evie is a nice example of this. Everything from the locks in her hair to the threads on her initial tank top and pants is incredibly detailed, with creases, lines, and patterns.
Though I am not the biggest fan of her initial design — it’s just alright — her later variants are some of the best I’ve ever seen for an original character. Her various couture outfits, optional accessories, and more are extraordinary and add to her fashion sense. It helps, too, that she looks the best in the platinum post-battle pass style.
2. Darth Vader
When Star Wars first arrived in Fortnite, many were astonished at the lack of Darth Vader. How could you possibly incorporate the renowned space opera franchise and ignore its greatest villain? Finally, Fortnite rectified that grave error with the final page of the Season 3 battle pass.
Admittedly, Darth Vader in Fortnite is accurate to the character, but certainly the safest version we could have gotten. The lack of other skin styles, like a Rebels-inspired broken helmet variant or even an Anakin Skywalker skin, would have been nice and elevated Darth Vader to first place. But, even still, Darth Vader on his own is still enough to best most skins in Season 3.
1. Goku
Son Goku from Dragon Ball is an example of how to nail a crossover character. Unlike the previous entry, Fortnite went all in on Goku, showcasing a love for the most popular anime character of all time in such a deserved way.
Sure, you have the basic Goku martial arts outfit, but there are other variations, too, like his battle-worn version that is shirtless. In addition, the character has several transformation options, including standard Goku, the classic yellow-haired Super Saiyan Goku, Super Saiyan Blue, and even his recent Ultra Instinct form. Not to mention, Goku’s anime style looks so well-crafted and fitting for the Fortnite art style.

Fortnite Season 3 Disappointed With Cosmetics
Figuring out the best skins for Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 was probably the easiest season for me to date. I’ve spent roughly five years with this game and more than 20 seasons now, but this was one of the easiest. It was just a shame that the original characters were touted so much by Epic, only for a couple of them to be worth your time.
Not to mention, the crossover characters took an arguably necessary break — just at a bad time — with only the Dragon Ball characters and Darth Vader standing out. However, you might want to check out this ISO skin guide if you want a great example of fancy skins within Fortnite. If you want to recover from this low point for the cosmetics side of Fortnite, that’s the place to look.
