The Animal Condition
The latest game from Raw Fury, the narrative-driven The Longest Road on Earth, has released on Google Play. The Indie publisher, known for such hits as Kathy Rain and Bad North, released their latest venture on May 27th, 2021. Developed by Brainwash Gang and TLR Games, the title is an example of an unorthodox kind of casual adventure game which emphasizes an emotional response from the player. The casual black-and-white adventure title seeks to immerse players fully in the ordinary lives of its four protagonists. Raw Fury utilizes the minimalist playstyle typical of their projects in The Longest Road on Earth. It allows players to honestly experience unadulterated vignettes of humanity, though ironically all the characters are animals.
The Sound of Music
The game is all set to a beautiful soundtrack of 20 original songs written and performed by the artist Beícoli. This collection of sounds takes the place of dialogue because there is none in the game. The music allows players to properly gather the emotions being represented on screen because if nothing else, this game’s goal is to touch people’s hearts. The four chapters are free of challenges and fail-states. This is to prevent any strain on the player and to maximize their immersion into the story. The brevity of the game, approximately just under 3 hours makes it long enough for the player to become invested in the stories but not so long that it drags on.
The creators of this nostalgic narrative-title understand what to include in a game for it to impact its players emotionally. They include these elements to create a calming and sparing experience meant for gamers from all walks of life. The Longest Road on Earth is available now on Google Play for $3.99.
