Dogs and Walkers
The Walking Dead: Survivors lets players gather and lead their favorite characters from the Walking Dead comic and TV show. However, until now, it had missed one of the core elements of post-apocalyptic survival, the dogs. Fortunately for The Walking Dead: Survivors fans, developer Elex announced the introduction of an Animal System to the successful mobile strategy game adaptation of the popular franchise.
Elix and publisher Skybound announced the new content with a trailer on March 1st. It opens with the popular character Glen and a rottweiler companion scavenging an abandoned supermarket. A Walker nearly attacks him, but the dog lunges at the zombie, giving Glen a chance to shoot it. A first-person action sequence then follows Glen and his dog working together to escape the undead horde. The dog seemingly sacrifices itself to let him escape, but the stinger shows it running back into Glen’s arms after giving the undead the slip.
Barnyard Blues
The game’s new Animal System adds Dogs, Cows, and Sheep. Each provides different to the player’s settlement. Players can level their pets up to unlock new skills and buffs that are useful to both combat and settlement development. For example, settlements with dogs have increased Formation capacity, and their Survivors do better in combat. Cows, meanwhile, buff their support and troop capacity. Finally, Sheep boost the community’s development and resource production. The new update also adds three animal-related buildings to The Walking Dead: Survivors. These are the Dog Kennel, Cattle Barn, and Sheep Fold, which players can upgrade to get the most out of their furry friends.
A freemium strategy MMO, The Walking Dead: Survivors is a big name in a heavily saturated market. It’s generally seen as one of the best games in the genre, with 4.5 stars on Google Play. Check out our Hardcore Droid review, and remember to check back later for more updates.
