Calling All Witchers

Whether you’re a fan of the games, books, or Netflix series, The Witcher: Monster Slayer puts the silver sword in your hands with an augmented reality twist. Spokko’s interactive RPG The Witcher: Monster Slayer allows players to become fully immersed in the world of The Witcher. As a Witcher, players will encounter monsters, local townsfolk and other Witchers while crafting their own story in first-person gameplay. The Witcher: Monster Slayer packs in excitement and adventure spanning across an open map. No matter your skill level or location, The Witcher: Monster Slayer is for all enthusiasts.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer AR gameplay

Geralt, Who?

The Witcher: Monster Slayer gameplay is based on an AR map of the players surrounding area. Like Pokémon GO, players move through an interactive map to encounter new creatures and quests. Every game will be slightly different for each player. Weather, time of day and location will affect the monsters encountered along the player’s journey. However, for those who prefer adventures from the comforts of home, the map is loaded with monsters around every corner. Of course, the more players venture out, the more monsters and quests they’ll uncover.

As a Witcher, players are armed with a sword, bombs, oils and potions to help defeat any monsters standing in their way. After destroying monsters, players will earn various items. There are a lot of items to collect, some more valuable than others. The items are combined to craft potions and bombs. These additions to the player’s arsenal are vital in defeating monsters. Certain monsters are weaker to specific attacks and elements like kinetic damage or fire. Upon victory against a monster, players will gain experience points, raising the Witcher’s level. Players can use the pay-to-play system to purchase armor, weapons and various other items to help defeat more powerful monsters. It is fairly easy to advance without having to purchase items, though it takes a little longer.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer has an additional co-op feature which is mostly PVE (player vs. environment). Players may add friends and send Witcher packages to one another that are loaded with useful items. Reminiscent of The Witcher console games are the interactive NPCs. Players encounter NPCs through comic-book style panels and utilize narrative role-playing actions.

Don’t Hunt and Drive

The Witcher: Monster Slayer doesn’t require players to leave the couch to play. But not moving around will hinder the gameplay; the same monster will always pop up. It will be the same monsters and no quests. If players are stationary for an extended period of time, there is still the opportunity to battle monsters and upgrade Witcher level. However, it does take the fun out of the AR system.

Do More Than Toss a Coin

The developers at Spokko don’t hold back on gore and graphic design. The Witcher: Monster Slayer bridges the gap between console gaming and the AR feature of mobile gaming by combining new and original content. Fans will enjoy fighting face to face with a monster from the Witcher universe. There is no denying that the Witcher series has appeal with its multiple books, games and Netflix series. Luckily, The Witcher: Monster Slayer lives up to its predecessors.

Is It Hardcore?
4

Heck Yeah!

The Witcher: Monster Slayer has a stimulating AR environment. Players can choose to fight Nekkers in a mythical grassy field or slay dragons on the kitchen floor. There is nothing more satisfying than slaying monsters at your local gas station.
