Piranha Escape and Zoab 2048 developer, Bitmagine Studio launched This Is Not a Sorcerer’s Job on Google Play. The game is early access, and is a platformer/puzzler that has been translated into seven languages. Bitmagine promises gamers pixel-art graphics with a soundtrack by Alexandr Zhelanov and joystick/pad support as well.
The title’s story surrounds a sorcerer’s apprentice named Bylo. He plays a practical joke on his teacher but is caught in the act. For his punishment, he cleans strange moss out of the White Tower of Itsmoor. While cleaning, Bylo discovers why the moss appeared in the first place. He’ll work alongside new allies to unravel this mysterious plot. Along with a mystery to solve, Bitmagine claims This Is Not a Sorcerer’s Job is a fun adventure of platforms and puzzles.
Some of the game mechanics involve running, swimming and battling enemies. Players can discover hidden areas and Bitmagine promises a screen free of buttons to fully enjoy the adventure. The game also contains a mini tutorial to help new players. Bylo will stop at nothing to clean up Itsmoor and stop the spreading moss.
Bitmagine Studio promises hidden areas and forgotten treasures to discover. Players encounter various joyful NPCs throughout the story. Sorcerer’s Job also offers various configuration options for players to customize their experience. The title is still in early access, so players should expect bugs and report them.
