Developed and published by River Game HK Limited, Top Heroes is an RPG game with a focus on hero collection plus real-time battles. Released for iOS devices earlier this year, this isometric gacha title throws the player into a world filled with magic, charm, mythical creatures and a strong evil force. Set in a mystical and imaginary world filled with forgotten secret and fantastical creatures, the story concerns a looming darkness threatening to cover this imaginary world. and  the player is tasked with putting together a team of heroes from different races and cultures to counter it.

Manage Your Heroes with Only Your Thumb

Top Heroes blend strategic troop deployment with real-time battles. The player collects heroes with unique qualities and leads them into battle. The control buttons in this isometric RPG title are quite simple. And the player uses only his thumb by swiping his finger across the screen. Whatever direction he chooses, the hero will automatically attack the enemies in that location. The player’s heroes also cut down trees and break stones in order to collect more points. The player’s only preoccupation would be the movement of its heroes. Especially  during battles, where you generally aim to avoid being killed by a stronger enemy.

Hero Collection and Customization 

The heart of Top Heroes is in its collection of warriors and points. The player gets to recruit recent champions from various races, each with their own lore and skillsets. As the player upgrades his heroes, they unlock new abilities to boost their effectiveness in the Battlefield.

Experience an Expansive Realm at your Fingertips 

At the start of Top Heroes, the player has only one hero to explore the world with, but it doesn’t take long before he saves other explorers, and they join him on the mission to restore the world from the hands of evil forces. The more people the player rescues, the larger his tribe becomes. And as the story unfolds, the player’s heroes will gain access to maps of various regions which he can easily access thanks to magical portals.

Hero Lists of Top Heroes

Top Heroes offers an extensive list of warriors, from the Pyromancer to the Astrologers. The Pyromancer currently stands as one of the most proficient damage dealers in the game due to her exceptional ability to inflict devastating effects on her opponents. While also providing a protective shield for her Allies. Her skills synergize perfectly with her existing damage abilities, making her an outstanding choice for swift and efficient clearing.

The Astrologer is a powerful addition to any team, excelling in single-target combat, and blending well with other heroes like the Adjudicator and Paragon. These unions can lead to significant increase in damage output, making them valuable assets in boss battles. As a tank, the Adjudicator does a great job of reducing damage and increasing shields. Which allows him to remain in the fight for an extended period of time. At max rank, he also grants invincibility, which is great in major fights if you have a great healer already.

Is Top Heroes Appealing?

Top Heroes would have been an excellent game if it were not for the constant advert interruptions. Plus, having a game tutorial is not a bad idea. But the finger constantly pointing at things that passed for a tutorial was just weird. I also think that the strategy genre is over saturated with similar titles and maybe a more unique title would have worked magic. Nonetheless, the game offers a decent blend of strategy, hero collection and exploration. The mobile format makes it convenient for casual players to jump in and out for short bursts of fun.

The games gacha aspect adds a layer of engagement, as the player is always on the lookout for new heroes to add to his roaster.  Overall, Top Heroes is impressive, offering fine graphics and lots of fun content to unlock. So, if you don’t mind occasionally intrusive ads, and are looking for an easy RPG game that doesn’t have a hard learning curve, you should check out Top Heroes.
