Good Boy!
Rarely is a game as succinctly self-descriptive as Watch Pet, the brand-new game where you watch pets! Just released on Google Play, Watch Pet lets you experience the joys of pet ownership without getting hair in your carpet.
This new casual game allows players to select from various adorable pets such as dogs, cats, birds and fish from a variety of different breeds and species. Players can level up by interacting with their pets to unlock new types of furry companions. This includes playing with and feeding their pets just like a real animal. Or like a Tamagotchi, come to think of it.
The game tracks your pet’s needs and lets you interact with them even when the app is closed. Watch Pet accomplishes this with a widget that players can add to their phone’s home screen. It offers a quick and easy way to interact with your digital companion, even when you’re on the go. However, the widget isn’t fully animated, which takes away some of the fun of hanging out with your cartoon dog.
Where Did You Get Him?
Koppas Games is the studio responsible for creating Watch Pet. They are a small developer that specializes in casual mobile games. Most of their library consists of brain teasers and other simple puzzle games. They also made Snake.io, a clone of Slither.io that seems to be testing the bounds of copyright infringement.
The game came out late last month and does not precisely have stellar reviews. Its Google Play ratings average three stars, with many users unimpressed with the lack of features, even for a virtual pet. There are also multiple reports of bugs and intrusive ads, which are not great signs. Still, Watch Pet has its defenders. You can check the game out yourself on Google Play and keep an eye out for our upcoming review here on Hardcore Droid.
