All Dogs Go to the Google Play Store
Dog lovers everywhere rejoice! A new game about dogs is just around the corner. This week Neilo’s With My Dog is hitting the Google Play Store. In this interactive pup app, allergenic gamers who live in pet-free apartments can finally know what it feels like to be the owner of their very own pooch.
Anyone who had a Nintendo DS back in the day will probably look at this game and think of the classic title Nintendogs. In that game, you could use the handheld device’s then revolutionary touch screen and microphone to interact with your very own canine companion. You could pet them, give them voice commands, teach them to do tricks and more. This game will be a lot like that. You will be able to go on walks with your dogs, watch them do tricks and react to your voice and even take AR photos and videos of them.
There have been many pet-related simulators since then, but what makes With My Dog special? Well, we don’t really know yet because it hasn’t been released, but the visuals so far look pretty awesome. The game’s animation is crisp and the lighting is bright and vibrant. The dogs themselves pop off the screen. They look great, and so do the backgrounds and scenery.
A Doggy-Dog World
With My Dog promises over 190 kinds of dog, with different fur colors and patterns. It’s unclear if they mean 190 different breeds, or just 190 variations of the breeds listed on the website, which are Shiba Inu, toy poodle, Labrador retriever and German shepherd. I’m no expert on dog breeds, but I’m pretty sure it would be hard to put 190 separate dog breeds into one game.
Nintendogs always excited me as a kid because it seemed like an actual dog was living inside my phone. Unfortunately, I never got it to work on my DS because the game cartridge was broken or something. It was kind of a bummer Christmas that year, but maybe the release of With My Dog can redeem that disappointment. We at Hardcore Droid will let you know when the review comes out.
