Let’s Talk about the Elephant in the Room
Think back and picture your favorite childhood stuffed animal. Surely you and your imagination spent countless hours playing with them. However, did you ever wonder what it might be like to become the stuffed animal? Maybe you did. Maybe you didn’t. Either way, Woven gives us that chance to see the world through a stuffed animal’s eyes. This indie puzzle title by StickyLock was just released on mobile. Woven is free to download, but if you want to go past level 1, you’ll need to purchase the game.
Play as Stuffy, a woolen elephant. This clumsy creature has been wandering the world alone. Once a world of peace and soft crafting materials, Woven has transformed to a metal madhouse. Luckily, Glitch the metal firefly becomes your sidekick. Unluckily, Glitch has no memories whatsoever. It is up to you to figure out what has happened to your beloved home.
This game was previously available on PC, the PS4, and Nintendo Switch. The gameplay on mobile is very similar to the iterations on other systems/ Instead of point and click; however, it is now point and tap. Additionally, the story is told through rhyme. This element adds to the nostalgia of the game because, like you know, many children’s stories are told in rhyme (Dr. Seuss, anyone?).
