Castle Crashers
From South Korean Studio Rising Wings comes Castle Craft – World War. The developers recently catapulted this casual multiplayer strategy game back onto the Google Play store. Rising Wings initially released the game for Android back in July. Unfinished and with serious bugs, it generally received negative reviews. As a result, Castle Craft was pulled from Google Play but recently got a new life on the platform.
The title lets players go head-to-head in 1 vs. 1 tactical combat. The game also boasts other online features such as leaderboards, arena battles and joinable guilds. Castle Craft’s developers promise “diverse and dynamic gameplay” using a range of units and commanders. Upgrading and expanding your base opens more options, letting players respond to encroaching threats. The game also contains light RPG elements. This includes letting players level up their units and commanders to more powerful versions. But players need to keep an eye on their opponent as well. Scouting an enemy’s base and figuring out what they’re planning is essential. Responding appropriately to threats separates the losers from the conquerors.Â
Rising Wings was established in 2020 by a merger between developers PNIX and Delusion. The combined studios have several games under their belt, though not all are available outside of Asia. Among them is Gun Zombie 2, one of the US’s ten most popular free mobile games of 2013. Castle Craft is the studio’s first major release after the merger. So far, the latest version of Castle Craft – World War has received a mixed but generally positive reception on Google Play. Some have criticized the game for reported use of pay-to-win style monetization. Other players have reported several other quality-of-life issues. Still, the developers appear to have addressed at least some of the more serious concerns. For more details, keep your eyes open for our upcoming Hardcore Droid review.
