Chickens are Out

Who says chickens can’t dominate? Not Bawk Bawk Rush, which sees players form a chicken army to become an epic hero. In this casual game by 37GAMES, the player has to defend a chicken farm from predatory animals’ invasion.

To do this, the player must create an army of chicken soldiers, selecting chickens with powerful and special skills. This includes 30 legendary chickens for players to choose from.

Will the Enemy Survive?

Bawk Bawk Rush starts with the player choosing their soldiers from the legendary clans of marksmen, assassins, mages, priests and warriors. Each of these fighters is endowed with specific fighting skills. For example, the priest makes use of the bible and holy water to disarm and kill enemies. Meanwhile, the mage uses fire to burn them down. The marksman, warrior and assassin each have particular weapons which they equally bring on the battlefield. The more enemies the player’s chickens kill, the more coins they collect, which they can use to upgrade their heroes.

Bawk Bawk Rush combines roguelike gameplay with several difficult options, offering each player with a unique challenge. As the player grows in strength, their magical feathers increase, and they get to unlock some exclusive skills. Players must experiment with strategies and carefully select and train their chicken heroes, using their unique abilities and skills to overcome obstacles and defeat opponents.

Is Bawk Bawk Rush Worth It?

I think that 37GAMES missed a few points, which would have made it a pure Bawk Bawk Rush. It’s good overall, but the combat takes entirely too long. Just when you think that you’ve won, more enemies show up, and it goes on and on until it becomes boring.

37GAMES also could have added more animation, sound effects and a better description of the skills of the heroic chickens. If I’m going to use them to protect my farm, it is important I know what they can do. I also didn’t like that you can only play Bawk Bawk Rush in landscape. Nonetheless, it is an entertaining yet relaxing game that offers a healthy dose of challenge if you can tolerate long and tedious battles.
