Developer Double Eleven limited have released Frozen Synapse Prime on Android. A follow up to last year’s Frozen Synapses by indie developers Mode 7. Using the same unique gameplay mechanics as it’s predecessor it compliments them with overhauled graphics and new features. For those not familiar with the title it’s uses an interesting turn based system and has players pitting their squad against the enemies across small arenas. At the beginning of each turn players organize and give directions to their units as their opponent does the same, be they human or an AI. Once both sides have confirmed their squads’ actions play continues and each team carries out their orders simultaneously. It’s this mechanic that bring an unusual amount of depth to the game, with players having to anticipate the enemies move to avoid charging into a cloud of shrapnel or unloading a clip into an empty corner.
The single player campaign features more than 40 missions and there are also additional modes like death match, escort, infiltration and rescue on offer to keep you busy. With a variety of units to choose from such as shot gunners, snipers, grenadiers and machine-gunners players are able to customize their squads for different strategies.
Frozen Synapses Prime is available now here on Google Play.
