Assistant to Adventurer
Imagine yourself working in a modern New York museum, fetching coffee for the more ‘important’ people. You casually touch one of the artifacts and suddenly you’re blinded by a bright light. Next thing you know, you’re waking up in 19th century London! This is what happened to Sarah, a struggling young professional from 2021, forced to adapt to a world without Wi-Fi. In this simulation game, help her clear a path and collect objects to figure out how to get her home. With newfound friends along the way, Sarah’s Adventure: Missing Treasures from Android developer Game Knight Network Technology Limited will be one to remember.
Tap & Go
The landscape of Sarah’s Adventure: Missing Treasures is bursting with bushes, trees and other foliage. When you tap greenery to remove it, two things happen: you collect grass and expend energy. Each bush and tree costs different amounts of energy. For example, one bush can either cost six or 12 energy units, while a tree can cost 45. The more foliage you remove, the more special objects are revealed. Those objects include chests, vases and other items. Tapping them will earn you extra energy, money and EXP to help you keep Sarah going. Another way to earn these rewards is to look at the Order Board. There are usually three orders waiting to be filled and delivered, each with different reward amounts. Sometimes you already have enough materials, while other times you need to go out and get more. Either that or build different structures to get what you need.
Besides the Order Board, Sarah’s Adventure also provides quests. These quests often ask you to construct buildings that make the materials you need to progress through the story. For example, you need to build the barn to make food for your chickens and cows. By planting corn, wheat and other crops, you can keep your animals fed. And animals with full stomachs produce more food like eggs and milk. Everything is connected in one way or another, so try not to let anything break that connection. Additionally, when Sarah’s out exploring, she’ll sometimes come across broken bridges. Tapping the bridges will tell you what materials are needed to fix them. Most often you’ll need wood and gravel, which are made at the sawmill and quarry. Both materials have wait times of up to a few minutes, so patience is key. However, players can only wait for things for so long.
Waiting Game
The only real criticisms about Sarah’s Adventure are some of the waiting times. If a player prefers to wait, that’s fine. It’s the players who don’t that will have a problem. Let’s say Sarah’s energy bar can hold 50 energy units. Once they’ve all been spent, you have to wait one minute for one energy unit. You can speed this up by spending gems, which can be bought from the store with real money, or earned by completing quests and orders. However, to completely refill the energy bar, you must spend seven gems. That may not seem like a lot until you look at the different wait times for materials. For example, one unit of wooden boards takes 10 minutes. The developers haven’t done much to hide the fact that shorter wait times means spending real money.
Let’s Go Home
With different areas to explore, Sarah’s Adventure: Missing Treasures is an engaging, story-rich Android game that will keep players coming back. Watch confused but determined Sarah hack away at the foliage to find hidden rewards while making materials needed to keep her moving forward. However, rewards around every other bush barely make up for waiting for the materials you need to complete a quest or remove an obstacle.
Is It Hardcore?
Yes
Overall, this game is enjoyable, though it could stand to have shorter wait times on everything.
