Rev up those fryers, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom- Rehydrated launches on Android soon! SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom was released in 2003 for all major consoles. This title is a remake of the fan-favorite game brought to console and PC by THQ studio and Purple Lamp Studio. THQ Studio’s HandyGames brings this action-packed 3D platform game to mobile later this month.
Developers claim this game has high-end visuals and is a polished update of the 2003 classic. Play as SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy as you try to thwart Plankton’s evil plan. Plankton let loose an army of rampant robots that are wreaking havoc in Bikini Bottom. Each playable character has special skills and unique moves. SpongeBob can roll into a ball while Sandy uses a lasso. As a 3-D platformer, you can explore the vast universe Nickelodeon’s hit TV show created.
This title stays faithful to the original by keeping on the wacky missions and adventures that had fans raving, but critics mixed. Some fans think Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated could have used more upgrades to avoid outdated game designs. The most notable improvement from the original is the graphics. The upgrade gives the game a brighter look that better matches its fun cartoon counterpart.
Another claim from the developers is that this title will have full controller support and that there aren’t any microtransactions.
