Ocean in the Sky
Created by Crunchyroll Games, Mitrasphere is their new co-op RPG. The game is an MMO in which you can team up with players from around the world in your quest to get home. The world Mitrasphere takes place in is a unique one. While it may seem like a typical fantasy world at first, that all changes when you look up. Miles above in the air is the titular Mitrasphere itself, a level of the planet’s atmosphere that’s all ocean. In this ocean there are fish, creatures, and even monsters like dragons.
You and your sister are orphans in this world; having lost both your parents when you were very young. One day, while you were out sailing the skies in your airship, you harpoon a fish which ends up dragging you into the Mitrasphere. You lose consciousness and fall upwards into the ocean, landing in a dragon’s egg. That’s when your character wakes up. Lost, penniless, and greeted by an unfamiliar world, it’s your duty to find your way home and get back to your sister.
Brave New World
Mitrasphere being a co-op RPG presents an interesting style of combat. All of your attacks are on a cooldown that’s timed by the second. You can spam all of your abilities at once but that leaves you wide open for a barrage of enemy attacks. It’s better to pace yourself with your attacks and choose the right action to take in the moment. Introducing co-op allies from across the world brings in another level of strategy. Now you’re not only worried about your own person but others as well. These battles take place in real-time so you and your teammates will have to work together and play smart to get through each fight.
