Immersive AR Experience
Niantic and Capcom have announced that their AR title Monster Hunter Now is available for pre-registration on Android and iOS platforms. This announcement comes ahead of the game’s global launch on September 14, 2023.
Monster Hunter Now will offer Monster Hunter fans a gaming experience that will follow similarly to that of Pokemon GO. In the game, players will need to find and hunt monsters through augmented reality surroundings. The monsters themselves depend on the surrounding habitat they are in. Each encounter with a monster lasts for 75 seconds, and the Hunter’s actions are carried out via swipe controls on the smart device.
The game was announced in April of this year, and a closed beta was held back in June 2023. A roster of 13 monsters will be available to encounter when the game officially launches worldwide. These include iconic monsters from across the franchise’s history, such as Great Jagras, Kulu-Ya-Ku, Pukei-Pukei and more. The six available weapons will be the Sword & Shield, Great Sword, Long Sword, Hammer, Light Bowgun, and Bow.
Players can also engage in Group Hunt and fight monsters together with nearby players. Plus, they can join hunting parties to adventure outside together!
