Land of the Dead
According to Norse mythology, if a warrior dies in battle they’ll be transported to Valhalla and enjoy a peaceful afterlife. However, that’s not the case here. From Ellada Games, Niffelheim has you play as a fallen warrior who somehow ends up in the cold, dark and hellish world of Niffelheim. To get to Valhalla, you’ll need to scavenge the land for supplies and fight all manner of monsters.
Choose your characters appearance (and thus, weapons and skills) by picking between a Viking, Valkyrie, Berserker or Shaman. Unfortunately, the Valkyrie seems to be the only female character. Travel the vast lands of Niffelheim and collect resources such as wood and ingots to craft weapons and even build your own fortress. But be careful, as Niffelheim if full of dangerous creatures blocking your way to Valhalla. Face off against living skeletons and giant spiders, using whatever they drop to help you stay alive (you know what I mean).
Beyond the challenging gameplay, Niffelheim also boasts gorgeously grim and detailed art for both the characters and backgrounds. It’s like watching a Norse legend come alive in the palms of your hands. This game was originally released on Steam in 2018 and has since been praised by all kinds in the gaming community worldwide. Its huge fanbase is also thanks to the fact that it has been translated into 14 different languages. If you’ve been wanting to play Niffelheim, now’s the time. This title is out now on Android.
