An AFK Side-Scroller
Super Planet’s Raising Archangel: AFK Angel Adventure dropped on Google Play this week. In this 2D idle RPG, you control an archangel, who side-scrolls across the screen while fighting monsters. You can upgrade your archangel in a number of ways to better fight said monsters. It’s very reminiscent of games like Super Mario Run that minimize the interaction required from players.
In terms of game mechanics, Raising Archangel uses easy operations and automatically hunts monsters. Archangel swings her sword on her own, with the ability to upgrade stats and weapons. Your character continues to fight monsters and gain experience while you’re away from the keyboard, hence ‘AFK’ in the title.
Raising Archangel offers various items to collect. The game sports 60 pieces of equipment, including powerful weapons and accessories. The game provides a crafting mechanic allowing players to construct and upgrade equipment. There are also nine relics with special effects alongside special costumes to find and collect.
Gameplay à la Mode
Raising Archangel also offers five different modes of play. Quest mode lets you log in every day to clear daily quests and get rewards. PvP lets you fight against other players in real time to climb rankings and be the best fighter. In Dungeon, you have to defeat a bunch of skeleton knights, demons and demonic monsters within 30 seconds. And Infinity Tower mode lets you climb a tower—you get more rewards the higher you go. Finally, there’s Dragon’s Nest, where if you defeat the Boss Dragon, you can earn Soul Shards. These allow you to grow into a more powerful archangel. Based upon the trailer, Raising Archangel appears to be an interesting game. Stay tuned for the HardcoreDroid review.
